Install on Windows

Add Apple's iPhone driver, install Pinmist, sign in and connect your iPhone.

Pinmist runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

1. Add Apple's iPhone driver

Windows needs a driver from Apple to talk to an iPhone. It is free and comes with the Apple Devices app.

  1. Open the Microsoft Store, search for Apple Devices and choose Get. It needs Windows 11, or Windows 10 version 22H2.
  2. Open Apple Devices once when it has installed.

If you already use iTunes, you have the driver and can skip this step. If Pinmist cannot find the driver later, it tells you and offers a Get Apple Devices button.

2. Install Pinmist

  1. Go to the download page and choose Windows.
  2. Open the downloaded file and follow the steps. Pinmist installs for your Windows account only, so it does not ask for an administrator password. On some Windows 10 PCs it also adds Microsoft's WebView2, which needs an internet connection.
  3. If Windows shows Windows protected your PC, choose More info, then Run anyway. Only do this for a file you downloaded from our download page.

3. Sign in

Open Pinmist from the Start menu. Enter the email you bought Pinmist with and choose Send code. Type in the 6-digit code we email you, and Pinmist opens the map.

Tip. Pinmist works on one computer at a time. Signing in on this PC signs out any other computer that was using your account.

4. Connect your iPhone

  1. Plug your iPhone into the PC with a cable and unlock it.
  2. When your iPhone asks Trust This Computer?, tap Trust and enter your passcode. If it does not ask, open Apple Devices with the iPhone plugged in.
  3. Turn on Developer Mode and restart the iPhone. Pinmist shows each step when you click your iPhone's name.
